Building Structure Demolition
Hazardous Materials Abatement
AMG was contracted to turn-key the asbestos & lead remediation and demolition of three existing concrete buildings to make way for the new, highly anticipated “The Park” development project. The existing property consisted of a 3-story, 5-story, and 8-story high concrete structures which were built in the 1950s and were once used as a medical center and middle-school. AMG remediated all the asbestos and lead from each building while simulteanously gutting each building to a concrete shell to make ready for the heavy demolition. AMG utilitzed multiple hydraulic excavators equipped wtih hydraulic breakers and pulverizers to safely demolish the buildings to the ground floor. To reach the high portions of the building, AMG utilized a specialized high reach excavator equipped with a cracker attachment which was capable of reaching up to 100′ from the ground floor. Each building was safely remediated and demolished to the ground while protecting nearby structures not to mention one structure was over 100 years old and fifteen feet from demolition operations. All construction debris and concrete debris were recycled giving AMG an overall recycling LEED rating of 94%.
