MV-22 Hanger Camp Pendleton
AMG was contracted to turn-key the demolition and site grading at Hanger 6 in Camp Pendleton to make way for a new state-of-the art MV-22 aircraft hanger. The existing 42,000 SF structure consisted of a 2-story concrete office building adjoined to a 55′ high steel hanger structure. AMG mobilized multiple hydraulic and high-reach excavators equipped with shear and thumb attachments to safely bring the structure to the ground. Each step of the demolition process was planned, coordinated, reviewed, and executed resulting in a safe and successful razing of a high profile structure located 40′ from an active military flight line. AMG crushed and re-used approximately 15,000 tons of concrete for the future stone columns under the new building foundation. AMG also over-excavated and re-compacted 100,000 SF of building pads to 95% compaction and set all finish grade using GPS technology for greater accuracy and efficiency.
